No. Any salon, barbershop, spa, or independent professional can list — registered or not. If you are looking to formalise, Chairside can point you to the eThekwini Municipality formalisation programme and share guidance on CIPC registration; assisted company registration is optional support, not a billed product SKU on the platform today.

Yes — optional assistance may be available for providers who want help formalising. Government registration fees remain payable to CIPC. Ask on the registration form and we'll explain what's available; there is no guaranteed 'first 100 free' product offer billed through Chairside today.

During setup you connect your banking details so deposits go straight to you when clients book (EFT or scan-to-pay). You always receive 100% of your stated price — the platform fee is paid by the client, never deducted from you. Card checkout is not part of Phase 1.

When a client books, they pay 50% of the service cost upfront through Chairside. The deposit is paid into your account via your banking details (EFT or scan-to-pay). You collect the remaining 50% in person on the day.

A small convenience fee charged to the client at checkout — not to the business. You always receive your full service price. Listing is free; this 9% client booking fee is the live commercial model today.

Yes — through Chairside's in-app chat. All communication stays on the platform so both you and the client are protected.

The cancellation and refund policy protects your time. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment result in the deposit being retained by the business.
